An idiot abroad 1

Sometimes the most inspirational quotes come from the simplest of minds.

I cannot work out if Karl Pilkington deserves the title of idiot or if he is an undercover genius who has managed to manipulate his mates into paying for him to travel the world visiting sites of historical interest whilst pretending to be an idiot. But the fact remains that he has had many experiences that most of us only dream of.

During tonight’s episode he furnished viewers with another of his witty but insightful observations of the world.

He discussed his enjoyment of a cup of tea and a biscuit – an afternoon treat most of us enjoy in England. But he went on to say that having travelled the world he has realised that the world is only so big and there are only so many places to visit but when it all comes down to it, he would prefer a biscuit because there are loads of them.

I sometimes wish that my own view was so simplistic and feel that we might all be better off it we took more pleasure in the simple things in life. Things like a cup of Twinings English breakfast tea and a chocolate digestive.
